Not sure, but the IIHS says it’s 60 mph.

Their roads are made with rocks the size of your fist. 60 is inadvisable.

Seriously. I rented a Mustang GT on Kawaii and never once had the opportunity to get over 35 mph :(

Last time I was there the H2 on Oahu was 65 but you will only be able to do 60 because traffic. Unless you are in a spirited competition late at night, which I totally wasn’t involved in.

It’s been awhile though. I need to go back.

Seriously. A state that enormous requires some speed to get anywhere!

Montana moves to 80 mph, but is still far shy of the glory days of “Best Prudent Speed”

Massachusetts stays at 65 mph, but residents continue to cruise at 90.

Maine continues to deny that the limit up in the north (which made the switch to 75 mph a few years ago) should really be Best Prudent Speed (just watch for moose).

I5 and sections of I 80/I15/I10 are 75 mph in California (I’m pretty sure).

In Montana they will let you slide (generally) if less than 10 over the limit. We are still trying to learn from “reasonable and prudent” limits from the mid 90's that saw many cross state driving records set when there was not an official daytime limit.

I frequently take trips of about 50 miles on a road that went from 65mph to 70mph last year. I’m very grateful for the extra ~2 minutes I’ve gained.

It’s about time Oregon raised its speed limit. I had to drive 100 miles up 97 at 55 MPH a few times and it was long as hell.

When the Wisconsin limit increased I was relatively excited. Six months later and I think it’s worse than before.

Reason 1: We used to have two tiers of speed: The speed limit (65-70) and the overs (70+). Now we have three tiers: The unders (65-70) who are so stuck in old habits that can’t go the speed limit, the speed limits (70-75), and the overs (75+). With only two lanes on many highways we now get an under doing 68 in the right lane being passed by a speed limit doing 70 in the left lane. Then the overs catch up and tailgate while waiting to get around, which of course leads to braking due to following too closely. Then everyone at the back of the line ends up doing 60 for a few miles until it all sorts itself out.

Reason 2: My gas mileage is worse because I have no self control and if my usual 7 over is 77 mph, I’m going to go faster rather than my old 72 in a 65.

I still hate Oregon.

Stupid full service at gas stations (like Jersey), and that drive from Boise to Portland will get you pulled over every time.

Idaho limit of 75-80 that’s loosely enforced (5 over all day long, right past cops), so you’re realistically going 80-85. Dropping to a strictly enforced 65 (now 70). Feels like you’re walking for the five hours it takes to get to Portland.

Illinois is also inaccurate. Even when the state legislature pushed 70mph through (despite shrieking about the children), the Chicago Machine overrode it for anywhere within reach, so we’re still stuck at 55 almost everywhere.
